Immunology Technology

While stimulation of protective immune responses is the fundamental goal of vaccinology, the complexities and nuances of the immune system make it a broad field of study in itself. Compounding this complexity is the compositional and mechanistic variation across immune systems of diverse systems of diverse production animal and aquacultural species. From the increasingly rich understanding of immune systems- their regulation and effector mechanisms- comes potential for discovery of new ways that vaccines and adjuvants may be tailored to be most efficacious. The USAVRCN recognizes this and looks to capture within the network the novel, and potentially transformative, expertise and date embedded in immunology research outside of applied vaccinology.
