About Us

US Animal Vaccinology Research Coordination Network:

The US Animal Vaccinology Research Coordination Network (USAVRCN) is an initiative of USDA NIFA to bring together the breadth of stakeholders with interest in advancing vaccine research and improving vaccine-based disease control in agricultural and aquacultural species.

On this initiative, the USAVRCN seeks to be a forward-looking entity to integrate and synthesize priorities of its Members and the community at large, and to give voice to disparate stakeholders with an eye toward clarity and direction to vaccine research agendas.

At its core, the USAVRCN seeks to advance availability of efficacious vaccines for use in agriculture and aquaculture. Through networking of those involved within and beyond vaccinology, we look to close key research gaps through cross-discipline collaboration and novel application of new technologies.

Vision:

To leverage current and future research at multidisciplinary member institutions of the U.S. Animal Vaccinology Research Coordination Network to develop next generation, safe and efficacious vaccines, and in doing so consolidating technologies and programs toward a common purpose, quickly gathering and disseminating information from within and across the network, and ultimately developing integrated strategies based on the collective data of the network partners.
